About

Built by Hyundai Motorsport at Alzenau in Germany, and the last of the three Rally1 cars to be developed — its final specification did not begin testing until weeks before the 2022 season opener. Its chassis and suspension work drew on Christian Loriaux, the designer behind the Subaru Impreza WRC2000 and Ford's title-winning Focus and Fiesta.

Delivered Hyundai its first drivers' championship in 2024, when Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe took Belgium's first world rally title. Historically the stronger car on loose surfaces, with asphalt the harder problem to solve; a substantial Evo revision covering suspension, transmission and weight arrived at Rally Sweden in 2025.
